It is yet another Monday!
Shall I say, I am beyond thrilled to be doing this?
I feel grateful that you have been reading my thoughts, sometimes rants. The past years have been taxing, grilling and really tough. We all go through rough patches at some point in life. It cannot always be rainbows and sunshine. But it is what you do during the lows that determines who you become. And where is your core.
I believe there are a few things that help one become a seasoned sailor. Faith is by far the greatest denominator that can blow dark clouds away. When your faith is strong, you can tide over anything. But if your faith is shaky, I recommend working on it. Work on the belief that ‘everything that happens is for my best’. And even though tough times may make you feel, you are undeserving of them, you are given an obstacle, because hey, sometimes, the obstacle is the way.
Next up, I believe strongly in the power of gratitude. There have been times when I thought to myself, ‘why feel grateful for this misery?’
But with complaining, feeling like a victim and grudging, bad times only grow worse. And I speak from experience. As long as you ask, ‘Why me?’, the problem seems to grow manifold. But the minute you flip the switch, and you feel grateful, life threw a boulder at you, something magical starts to happen deep within.
Gratitude changes your very core. It helps you believe, you were meant to be exactly where you stand. To face the exact adversity that has come your way. Gratitude also helps you realise, life is more than a series of pleasures. It is beyond our efforts to go unscathed, to feel comfortable and from from problems.
To drive home the point, no matter how good or bad life may be treating you at the moment, when you have faith that this situation is here to bring out the best in you; and when you feel grateful life is helping you become what you were meant to be, things begin to change for the better.
P.S. I have begun counting my blessings each time I feel a storm rocks my boat. But gratitude never fails me. It moors my boat.
How are you coping up with life today? Is it overwhelming? Is it awesome? Is it just alright? Whatever it is, say ‘Thank you’ tonight to the higher power that you have faith in. And if you have no faith, try believing that you are taken care of!
