Daily writing prompt
What’s something most people don’t know about you?

If you have been following my posts, you know well I have no straight answer to anything. Had you asked me this question a couple of years ago, I wouldn’t hesitate at all to humbly list out every talent I was born with, every skill I picked up over the years, and toot my own horn and blow my own trumpet so hard, you’d run away.

But the last two years have been transformational. A few ups and plenty of downs have forced me to believe we are infinite beings. We are ultimately souls, playing the role of a human in this life form. We may be comprised of physical, emotional, mental and spiritual attributes. And where we put our attention, that area in life grows. As a result, each one of us is ever changing. If we were to look at our past, we can map a trajectory, how we reached where we are. We can even refer to versions of ourselves from the past and times when we experienced change. And we can choose to let people know about plenty of things they do not know about us.

But here comes the magical point. When we realize we are infinite and ever evolving, there is so much we do not about our own selves. And every change steers us at a different degree of transformation. It marks the beginning of a new version of us. It is therefore impossible to announce anything that others do not know about us. The interesting part is, this realization makes life fueled by curiosity. And it now makes sense to look at life in a non-linear fashion.

For starters, the concept of time does not make any sense. As kids, we did experience that some students were good at STEM subjects while other students leaned more towards languages or arts or sports. No two kids could be forced to master one subject in the same amount of time. Similarly, as humans, we have developed the concept of time and calendar based on the movement of cosmic elements and decided to call a certain period a year. And the society has gone far ahead to condition our beliefs about activities and achievements based on our age. Once we realize we are infinite, this conditioning drops off like a facade. The only thing that makes sense is to keep growing, keep detaching, keep evolving until we drop all masks we wear. Until we realise we don’t live in the universe, instead the entire universe is a figment of our imagination (heard this from Deepak Chopra this morning and thought it was fascinating).

P.S. So, is there something people do not know about me? I guess, I may not know that either. But someday, I hope to discover all the versions of myself there can ever be. Until then, it is going to be a tug of war between the limited personality versus infinite possibilities each one of us can potentially be. And reunite with the ultimate consciousness.
