Invent a holiday! Explain how and why everyone should celebrate.

The Day of Dreams!

I would totally celebrate my dreams. And those of people around me. As a child, I slept in one room with my siblings. While they would instantly slip into slumber, I remember myself looking out of the only window in that room, every night, wishing I would travel the world someday. That I would live on an island! And it was the sights of coconut trees dotting the shore and the thought of cool gentle breeze that would drift me into slumber.

And so, here’s kudos to that child I used to be. Always interested in the pages of my geography book, discovering new places on Earth and the people that lived there. That textbook was my only window to the world during daytime. And at night, I would dream with my eyes open, staring into eternity from that little window in my room. I do believe, the dreams we truly desire from the deepest core of our hearts, come true. I may not have travelled the entire world, but I have visited a few places. You never know, when I finish a cycle of globe trotting!

Dreams are desires attached to freedom. Period. Nobody clings to dreams. Dreams never make us miserable. In fact, they give us joy when we see them in our sleep. They fill us with ambition when we see them with our eyes wide open. And they mostly bring a smile. They are the extensions of our sub conscious. The gateway to uninhibited desires and wants that we usually hide from the rest of the world and sometimes our own selves. They represent our fears and quests that we push under the rug or simply put, never dare to accept even in secret.

There are vivid dreams. There are silly dreams. There are dreams we chase in our waking lives. And all of these dreams shape the real us. They are fragments of our own beings, the ones even we are oblivious to. So yeah, a holiday of Dreams would be it!

P.S. Imagine people meeting at a park to share their dreams. Or go on a family outing to try out some of the dreamy occupations that we don’t otherwise find practical. Or have a family swap. Like go and spend a week with a family that understands your dreams more than the family you belong to. There are so many possibilities. Dreams unlimited!
