If you had a million dollars to give away, who would you give it to?

For the lack of a better topic I over a busy weekend, I chose to think about this one. Very interesting. Giving away a million dollars. There are some things I would love to do at some point in life:

  1. Start a school on a mountain: a school that lets children to be who they are. that helps them grow in areas they are good or gifted. A school that provides a mindset and readies humans to face life, not just material achievement. A school that helps families that cannot afford an education. Use 500k to create that school and use some investments to keep getting returns in order to sustain the school.
  2. Sponsor 100k workers in Singapore to do the happiness course by the art of living.
  3. Create a mutual fund of 400k investment that gives regular payouts to families of patients suffering from fatal diseases.

A million dollars is a lot of seed capital. I believe I would like it to grow and became a source of sustained giving to the causes I believe in.

P.S. I do not have a million dollars. But the thought of ideating giving away that money makes me feel wealthy. There is a freedom in thinking what I would like to do with a ton of money… especially when it isn’t for myself.

True generosity is in the intent. Turning seed capital into sustained impact is the kind of giving the world needs.
